[News] Renthal expands into the pedal market with Revo-F

Renthal is best known for its Fatbar and range of mountain bike grips, but has now entered the apartment pedal game with the Revo-F. It's designed to be super-strong and is built around patent-pending internal components that allow for easy maintenance at home using readily available tools.

The new Revo-F has been built with three objectives in mind: grip, durability and ease of maintenance. To achieve this, the CNC-machined 6061 aluminum pedal body was designed with a two-axis concave design that Renthal says offers unparalleled performance on the trail. The concave design is actually cut into the pedal, as seen on Wolf Tooth Components Waveform pedals, rather than just formed through the height of the pins.

Speaking of pins, each side of the pedal benefits from 10 adjustable pins that can be increased with one-millimeter washers. For even greater adjustability, Renthal provides long and short pins in the box, with all of them offering a pin height of 2.5 mm to 5.5 mm.

Renthal wanted to allow the rider to use the entire pedal platform, so the length of the axle has been increased to place the pedal further away from the crank. So if you're a rider with a wider foot on the bike, the Revo-F should accommodate.

Internally, it looks like Renthal has done something very good. The Revo-F has a unique axle system, according to the brand, and uses patent-pending technology that employs the axle to remove and install the Igus bushing, so the entire pedal can be serviced from the comfort of your sofa.

The axle is made of Chromoly and extends across the entire width of the pedal. It has three outer cartridge bearings, as well as an extra-wide inner Igus bushing. A full-contact seal and an outer o-ring ensure sealing.

Renthal's new Revo-F pedals are available in black and the classic gold color and cost around €155.
