For those who don't know, Thomus is a Swiss brand that has a partnership with Maxon, a specialist in bicycle motors, which manufactures the renowned Bikedrive Air superlight motor.

The frame is made from high-modulus carbon fiber and the whole bike weighs less than 15 kg, making it the lightest full-suspension electric bike in the world.

The declared weight of the motor and battery - fully integrated - is around 3.5 kg, which helps to keep the weight down. As for the technologies inherent in this motor, it has a freewheel system that makes the transitions between assisted and unassisted pedaling more natural.

This is clearly a bike that fits into the light eBike concept, with moderate assistance (30 Nm, with 40 Nm of maximum torque) and a 250 Wh battery that can be assisted by an external battery with a further 250 Wh.

This model has 29-inch wheels and the travel ranges from 120 to 150 mm at the front and 120 to 130 mm at the rear. It is available in three sizes - XS/S, M/L and L/XL - and the declared weight is 14.8 kg. It is intended for trail and XC use and is the bike that Mathias Fluckiger (a Thomus World Cup athlete) uses for many of his training sessions. "I do a lot of long training rides these days and the Lightrider E Ultimate helps me improve, including allowing me to focus more on more technical sections."
